Kindly funded by Heartburn Cancer UK, a Mobile Diagnostic Unit (MDU) has proven a success in its first location, Great Shelford Cambridge. 261 patients have attended for an appointment to date.
With the C-19 pandemic restricting research, the MDU has allowed DELTA to continue recruitment in Primary Care which otherwise would have be halted. The MDU has a spacious clinic room where the patients have their Cytosponge procedure and an adjacent waiting room. The model has been highly praised by patients with many commenting on the ease and efficiency of the location and appointments.
The MDU has been relocated to Chelmsford Essex for the New Year and will also travel to Eye Suffolk later in the year. Look out for further updates to come!
